It’s summer and our thoughts fly away so easily to vacation, sun & sand…I find myself recalling parts of my previous beach holidays and I come up with my personal top 3 beaches I explored so far. I haven’t had the opportunity yet to see Maldives, Seychelles or other exotic places, this chart is subject to change based on my future travels. Today, my chart looks like this:
1. Algarve, Lagos – Portugal
Southern Portugal won my heart from the first hour I got there. I already talked about the second part of my honeymoon that I have spent in Lagos. The wild landscapes, golden sands, the fascinating history of the place (Lagos was a frequent home of Henry the Navigator) made it my no. 1 beach.
2. Koukounaries Beach, Greece
In a trip to Skiathos Island, I have spent a few hours at this amazing beach. The sands divides the azure sea water of the pine trees. The landscape is breath taking.
3. Brighton Beach, UK/ Moesgard Beach, Aarhus, Denmark
It’s hard to select the third place for my chart, but eventually I selected two beaches that I explored during spring. I found Brighton very lively, while I walked from one side to another Fat Boy Slim’s songs came into my mind. He made this place legendary in 2002 when 250000 people attended his beach concert. While I visited Eve in Denmark last year I had the oportunity to see the Moesgard beach that I found so natural and nice.
What is your favorite beach?
Skagen also in Dk, is one of their famous beaches because you can see the place where Baltic Sea and North Sea come together! 🙂 Sometimes you can observe the different colors of them.
But also Riskkov beach, the residential district from Aarhus is absolutely fabulous. When I tell people that I was swimming in Dk, they don’t believe me! We were lucky to fell the summer vibes in DK, so I returned home tanned!
