I spent the second part of my honeymoon in Algarve. We traveled from Lisbon to Lagos by bus. The price for the bus or the train was the same, and I would always choose the train, but this time, there wasn’t a direct one and it was easier to take the bus. I was surprised to see that there was Wi-Fi in the bus and also a travel attendant provided information regarding the places we saw on the window and also asked us if we want something to drink or to eat. There was a four hours drive, from Lisbon to Lagos, and it started by crossing the 25th of April Bridge. I had the chance to have a closer look at the Christ the King statue, that was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro and was released to express the gratitude for the fact that Portuguese were spared of the effects of World War II. We spent the days in Lagos relaxing and enjoying the beach. I liked the most the atmosphere on the streets of the historical town, everywhere there were people performing: close to the outdoor restaurants people singing and playing different instruments, in the town squares there were people playing with fire, making soap balloons, or just making juggling. Besides all these, on the beach there was a scene where different artists were singing, and kinds, old and young people were dancing. I just couldn’t help myself and started dancing when I heard the song Balada (originally sang by Gustavo Lima) and Tchu cha cha. I knew the lyrics, I knew the choreography, I felt so good being there! The evenings there were so lively… We spent the days on the beach or on the pool. My husband was fascinated of snorkeling, I found the water a little too cold for me, so I read a lot, admired the landscape. In the last day there were huge waves and I stayed in the water for hours, I just got used with the temperature and I would stay there forever, but we had to leave. We took the bus back to Lisbon, in order to get to the airport for the Bucharest flight. This time we crossed the other bridge of Lisbon, Vasco da Gama, the longest bridge in Europe. It is part of the lane, and I had the feeling it never ends. At the airport, we found out that the flight operated by TAP Airlines was delayed again. This time more than an hour. In the morning we were home sweet home, coming back to the normal life and dreaming of the next holiday.
