A brand called YOU

In urma cu ceva timp am primit un mail de la cumnata mea in care ma ruga pe mine si alti prieteni sa-i raspund la intrebarea “cine sunt?”. Desi parea simplu, cand a trebuit sa raspund mi-a fost destul de greu sa formulez. Ea ma cunostea doar, vroia doar sa vada ce consider eu definitoriu pentru mine…iar asta mi-a dat si mie de gandit…si mi-a amintit de o carte care mi-a fost recomandata la un workshop de Leadership. Cartea se numeste “A brand called you” si inca nu am apucat sa o citesc insa intentionez. Doar ce am rasfoit primul capitol si mi-au placut cateva idei:

“As an individual, you must acknowledge that you are a brand. And who better to market your personal brand than you. This means that at the end of the day, the success of your personal brand lies in your hands.”brandcalledyou

“You need to approach your career in terms of differentiation (standing out in the crowd) and marketability (providing something other people want or need). Why would someone choose your brand?

  • A robust professional network Endorsements from respected colleagues
  • Previous accomplishments with cataloged results
  • A diversified and unique skill set”

The successful brand YOU marketing model has the proper mix of confidence, passion, likeability, determination, and focus.

Personal branding is about authenticity and sincerity.

Iar sfatul care mi-a placut cel mai mult: “Above all else, be yourself – be genuine- and you’ll find success no matter what you do.”

Revenind la intrebarea initiala, cine sunt, am incercat sa exprim asta in cateva cuvinte in pagina About me. Asta sunt acum, inca lucrez sa-mi dezvolt skill-urile pe care le am si sa dobandesc alte noi. Acest blog imi ofera cadrul in care pot fi creativa, in care pot scrie cu sinceritate despre subiectele care ma preocupa.

Vreau sa inchei acest post cu o idee pe care am auzit-o la conferinta Think Leadership . Diferenta dintre tine de acum si tu peste 5 ani consta in:

  • cartile pe care le citesti intre timp
  • oamenii pe care ii cunosti
  • locurile pe care le vezi

De aceea planuiesc sa citesc cat mai mult, sa vizitez cat mai multe locuri si sa particip la evenimente de notworking in urmatorii ani. 😀
